Darren Thompson - Ghost Hunter
By day, Darren is an engineer with a large telecommunications company, but when the sun goes down – he is President of WSPIR, Washington State Paranormal Investigations and Research.
Darren has always been fascinated by the unexplained or the “paranormal.” After having mysterious experiences at a haunted B&B in New Orleans, he and his wife, Jill, began to actively pursue their shared interest in the paranormal. In 2005, Darren, Jill and three others established WSPIR which has now grown to 60 members, all dedicated to assisting those experiencing unexplained phenomenon by in-depth investigation and historical research.
Over the past 8 years, Darren has led many paranormal investigations in Washington state as well as around the country. He has investigated with Jason and Grant of The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) and investigated in Copenhagen with the Paranormalt Institut of Denmark. Darren has been a guest on numerous radio and television shows and makes personal appearances at colleges and universities speaking on the paranormal.
Darren will take you on a journey through the often shrouded history of hauntings of the Pacific Northwest, California, Louisiana and even Copenhagen – from myth to history to fact. Walk the not so silent halls of an abandoned insane asylum, listen to the terrifying events families have experienced inside their own homes, hear the story and the voices of the spirits trapped by Washington’s first serial killer and other stories that will captivate, horrify and even amuse you. But remember, all are based upon solid historical research, precise investigation and first hand experiences. Participants are invited to ask questions throughout the presentation.
In addition to investigating the paranormal, WSPIR, under Darren’s leadership, assists in the preservation of valued historical landmarks and “forgotten” cemeteries for future generations. WSPIR maintains a local cemetery, transcribes cemetery gravestones for genealogical research, and encourages the study of gravestones and gravestone restoration from historical and artistic perspectives. “We have an appreciation for historical buildings and cemeteries and are honored to help preserve history anyway we can.”
Darren is a member of the American Association Electronic Voice Phenomenon (AAEVP), the Association for Gravestone Studies and International Paranormal Investigators. WSPIR represents The Atlantic Paranormal Society (TAPS) in Washington State.

8 Reviews for College Power Performers
I have been working with College Power Performers for over eight years and their continued professionalism and integrity is second to none. NHTI has had a number of their talented individuals come to campus, including Robert Channing, and these performers have yielded the LARGEST crowds in SCHOOL HISTORY!
Working with College Power Performers was so quick and easy. In less than a day we had booked three great events for both fall and spring semester. College Power Performers was easy to work with, and I know our students will love the things we are bringing to campus!
We loved Robert Channing. The house was packed. He had crazy predictions. He knew stuff about people that we had no idea and everyone was really freaked out. But it was great and we loved him and we’ll definitely have him back.
Booked over 50 events with Power Performers. The shows were great!
Awesome shows! I highly recommend College Power Performers. Students and faculty were AWESTRUCK!
We just had Robert Channing and he had our audience in stitches the whole time. They couldn’t believe all the stuff that he was doing. It was awesome. We’d have him back and it was worth every penny.
We just had Robert Channing here tonight and he was amazing. Students loved him, he read everyone’s minds and we really enjoyed it. We can’t wait to have him back.
We’ve had Robert Channing come here so many times and every time he never ceases to amaze the entire crowd. He made believers out of skeptics and people were walking out of here speechless. Amazing once again. Thank you Robert.
